    Relationship between temporomandibular disorders with respect to the stress presented by patients who attend the Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre Stomatological Clinic in Lima in 2022

    The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and stress in patients at the Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre Stomatological Clinic in Lima, 2022. The study design was observational, analytical, prospective, cross-sectional, conducted using the Fonseca Anamnestic Index and the Perceived Stress Scale. The sample consisted of 196 patients from the Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre Stomatological Clinic in Lima. The data obtained were subjected to statistical analysis and Spearman's correlation with p < 0.05 as significant. The results show that there is a relationship between TMD and stress (p = 0.000) (Rho = 0.702). Of the patients, 79.6% presented TMD, with 43.4% reporting stress very often, 34.2% often, and 18.4% occasionally. It was also observed that 20.9% of the patients with stress and TMD were up to 32 years old. Conclusion: There is a relationship between temporomandibular disorders and stress in patients at the Víctor Raúl Haya de la Torre Stomatological Clinic in Lima.
