    Anxiety and depression in teens in the 3rd, 4th and 5th Grade of secondary school 1219 Jose Carlos Mariategui, 2023

    The present research aims to determine the relationship between anxiety and depression among 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade high school adolescents at 1219 José Carlos Mariátegui School in 2023. Methodologically, it was structured under a hypothetical-deductive, applied, quantitative, cross-sectional, non-experimental, and correlational method, involving a population of 522 participants. The sample consisted of 222 students, and questionnaires were used as instruments for each variable. The results showed that 55% of the participants were predominantly male. Anxiety levels were within normal limits for 61% of the participants, while depression was at a mild level for 58%. It was evidenced that emotional and physical discomfort dimensions significantly correlated with depression with a p-value of 0.000. It is concluded that there is a significant relationship between anxiety and depression among 3rd, 4th, and 5th-grade high school adolescents at 1219 José Carlos Mariátegui School in 2023. This conclusion is supported by a significance level of 0.000 and a coefficient of 0.726, indicating an increase in depression levels as anxiety levels rise in adolescents.
