One of the routine activities carried out by nurses is the aspiration of secretions, with the goal of removing accumulated bronchial secretions from the respiratory tract and maintaining airway patency. This procedure requires that the nurse has the necessary knowledge and proper technique. The objective of this research project is to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and practice of secretion suction by nurses in intubated patients in the intensive care units of a hospital in Chincha, 2022. The study has a quantitative approach, applied type, non-experimental design, and cross-sectional nature. The study population consists of 36 nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in Chincha. Data collection techniques and instruments: The techniques used will be surveys and observation. A questionnaire will be administered to the nurses, with informed consent, consisting of 16 questions, and a checklist with 19 items, which will be filled out according to observations. The results will be collected, processed, and coded in an Excel database and will be tabulated and analyzed using the SPSS 2022 software.
