Ítem Acceso abierto Burnout syndrome and work performance of nurses in the emergency unit of a hospital in Lima - 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-01-21) Tasayco Ramirez, Maritza; Montoro Valdivia, Marcos AntonioIntroduction: Health professionals are a group especially susceptible to suffering from burnout syndrome given the demanding nature of their profession and the environment, where it ir estimated that there are twelve nurses for every ten thousand inhabitants; This situation leads the nursing professional to redouble its efforts to meet the demand of patients and the expectation of patients and their families. Likewise, the nursing professional must handle a series of knowledge for the performance of the mission that correspondsto him within the health services. Objective: Determine the relationship of Burnout Syndrome with the Work Performance of nurses in the Emergency Unit of a Hospital in Lima - 2024. Method: The study will be observational, descriptive at a cross-sectional relational level. The study will be observational, descriptive at a cross-sectional relational level. The population will be made up of 120 nurses under a contract in any modality of the Hospital in Lima. The sample will be taken during the period February-April 2024 using the Maslach Burnout Inventory questionnaire and the job performance questionnaire, which will collect data to be processed through non- parametric tests to identify the relationship between the variables, in order to prove that Burnout syndrome interferes with the work performance of the nurses at Hospital of Lima.
