The review concluded that replacing animal protein with soy protein (SP) delayed the loss of glomerular filtration rate (GFR), as well as the increase of ventricular hypertrophy, blood pressure, and muscle mass loss. It also reduced phosphorus, cholesterol, and serum urea during the 12-month intervention.
