Ítem Acceso abierto Daytime sleepiness and physical Activity in university students, Lima - 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-05-18) Terrazos Yance, Gabriela del Pilar; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaDaytime sleepiness is a sleep disorder characterized by a compulsive desire to sleep. It can be caused by various factors, such as inadequate sleep routines, poor-quality sleep, and a sudden reduction in sleep hours or recurrent awakenings. Unfortunately, these circumstances are frequent and recurrent in the context of university academic life, where fulfilling various responsibilities often leads to significant stress levels, poorly defined work schedules, and disrupted sleep patterns, which contribute to sleep disturbances. On the other hand, university life is marked by unhealthy habits, such as study routines, work assignments, and meetings with undefined durations, as well as poor eating habits based on junk food, all of which dramatically impact sleep patterns. These are the first routines to be reduced when trying to meet academic demands, leaving little time for other activities that would benefit optimal health, such as regular physical activity, which adds another negative factor to the health of university students.
