Publicación Acceso abierto Terapias alternativas y los niveles de estrés y ansiedad durante la pandemia COVID-19 en los egresados de la Facultad de Farmacia y Bioquímica de la Universidad Norbert Wiener 2021-I(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-06) García Aguila, Leydi Natali; Tintaya Ortiz, Jeanett Raquel; Alvarado Chávez, BrittObjective: To determine the relationship between alternative therapies and levels of stress and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic among graduates of the Faculty of Pharmacy and Biochemistry at Norbert Wiener University (2021-I). Methodology: A cross-sectional correlational study was conducted. The sample consisted of 109 graduates who were administered surveys using a Likert-type scale to measure levels of stress and anxiety. The Chi-Squared test of independence (p value<0.05) was used for statistical analysis (SPSS-26). Results: 13.8% of graduates who used an alternative therapy presented high stress levels, while 13.6% of those who did not use any therapy also presented high stress. Conversely, 1.5% of graduates who used an alternative therapy presented high anxiety levels, while 6.8% of those who did not use any presented high anxiety, which demonstrates a significant increase in anxiety symptoms in graduates who did not use any alternative therapy. The Chi-Squared Test yielded a p-value of 0.571 associated with the level of stress and a p-value of 0.355 associated with the level of anxiety. Conclusions: The null hypothesis (H0) is accepted, meaning no significant relationship exists between the variable of alternative therapies and the levels of stress and anxiety during the COVID-19 pandemic among the graduates. However, a pattern was evidenced in the increase of both stress and anxiety levels in those graduates who did not use any alternative therapy.
