    Factores que predisponen RAM por asociación sulfametoxazol / trimetoprima / guaifenesina en suspensión oral en pacientes pediátricos, adquiridos en establecimientos farmacéuticos de Lima Metropolitana. Agosto 2020

    The objective of this research was to determine the factors that predispose Adverse Drug Reactions (ADRs) from the use of the combination Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim/Guaifenesin oral suspension in pediatric patients, acquired in pharmaceutical establishments in Metropolitan Lima in August 2020. 422 parents of pediatric patients who acquired the medication with a medical prescription were interviewed. Surveys were conducted by telephone, collecting baseline information on patient history and, at the end of treatment, surveys on predisposing factors and adverse reactions. 385 patients were considered for the analysis. The predisposing factors for an ADR from the use of the Sulfamethoxazole/Trimethoprim/Guaifenesin oral suspension combination were determined to be "concomitant medication with Paracetamol" and the usage pattern of "compliance with administration time of use." No relationship was found with the other factors evaluated. Two predisposing factors were obtained for the adverse reactions found in the research, with a 0.52% incidence of urticaria in the study population. This ADR is reported in technical data sheets of studies conducted separately for each active ingredient.
