Publicación Acceso abierto Efectos adversos asociados al uso de anticonceptivos hormonales en usuarias que acuden a la Farmacia Mundial, en el distrito de Lince, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-09-16) Torvisco Huaraca, Ana María; Collantes Llacza, Adela MarleneThe present investigation aimed to determine the relationship between adverse effects and the use of hormonal contraceptives in users who attend Farmacia Mundial, Lince, using a quantitative approach and a non-experimental design. The sample consisted of 233 users who were administered a questionnaire. Data normality was verified using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, indicating non-normality, which led to the application of non parametric tests. Analysis was performed using the Spearman coefficient. The descriptive results indicated that the vast majority of users presented an average level of both adverse effects (50.2%) and contraceptive use (55.4%). Inferentially, a strong and statistically significant assessment was identified between adverse effects and the use of hormonal contraceptives in general (rho = 0.887, p = 0.000). Similarly, for each type of contraceptive, the correlations were significant: oral (rho = 0.818), external (rho = 0.791), and injectable (rho = 0.845), all with p < 0.01. Thus, it is concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between the level of use of hormonal methods and the occurrence of adverse effects in the study population. This finding underscores the need to implement follow-up and ongoing education programs to optimize adherence and minimize side effects, thereby improving users' quality of life.
