Functional capacity and quality of life in patients of the senior citizens club of the Chancay Hospital - 2021

Objective: determine the relationship between functional capacity and quality of life in patients of the “Club del Adulto Mayor” of Chancay, 2021. Methodology: quantitative approach, cross-sectional design. The population will be made up of 79 patients from the “Senior Adult Club” of the Chancay 2021 Hospital. The selection criteria were established. The sample will be the population. Data collection techniques and instruments: The survey technique will be used for the two variables under study. Quality of life will be evaluated using the Whoqol Bref questionnaire, which was validated in the national context by expert judgment and a Crombach's Alpha of 0.86 was obtained. Functional capacity was evaluated using the Barthel index, which has a Crombach's Alpha of 0.91 and is used by the Ministry of Health for comprehensive geriatric assessment. Procedures: Data collection will be carried out during the months of February and March 2021. The application of the instruments will be carried out when patients attend their periodic comprehensive evaluation at the “Senior Adult Club”. The data will be entered into a database matrix after verification of completeness. Statistical Analysis: the descriptive analysis will use frequency tables, measures of central tendency and dispersion; To test the hypothesis and evaluate the level of relationship of the variables under study, the Chi square test will be used, accepting p values as significant < 0.05.
