Materials and methods: the research was included within the quantitative method of the descriptive type of correlational level, made up of a population of 119 nurses, the sample consisted of probabilistic convenience sampling of 80 nurses. Techniques and instruments: the technique used was the survey and two questionnaires with Likert scale-type alternatives for each variable were used as instruments. Results: Regarding the Burnout Syndrome variable, there is a low tendency of 7% to develop Burnout, followed by 38% medium and high with 55%. On the other hand, the coping strategies variable, it was found that 69% have a regular coping strategy, 22% good, 5% excellent and 4% deficient. Likewise, it was statistically demonstrated that between the Burnout Syndrome variable and coping strategies there is a low significant relationship with a Rho=-0.0223 with a significance value of p=0.016, so the alternative hypothesis is accepted. Conclusion: We can conclude that a high level of Burnout is related to a deficient coping strategy on the part of the nurses of the Barranca Hospital, which hinders the quality of care and the full development of work activities, which is currently considered a Public Health problem.
