Ítem Acceso abierto Relationship of social support and activities of daily living in the older adult of the Geronto-Geriatric Residential Care Center Ignacia Rodulfo Vda. de Canevaro, Lima 2018.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-09-20) Flores Ponce, Claudia Gabriela; Delgado Calle, Diana; Vásquez Cevallos, Josefa EdithObjective: To determine the relationship between social support and activities of daily living in older adults at the Geronto-Geriatric Residential Care Center Ignacia Rodulfo Vda. de Canevaro Lima-2018. Materials and Method: This research has a quantitative approach, with a correlational and cross-sectional design. The population consisted of 353 older adults, and the study sample was 107 older adults. The instruments used, later validated, for social support were the Zimet et al. questionnaire, and for activities of daily living, the Barthel scale was used. Results: In the social support dimension, 43.9% (47) reported low social support, 43.9% (47) medium support, and 12.1% (13) high social support. In the activities of daily living dimension, 46.7% (50) had severe dependence, 41.1% (44) moderate dependence, 7.5% (8) total dependence, and 4.7% (5) minimal dependence. In the eating dimension, 23.4% were dependent, 49.5% needed assistance, and 27.1% were independent. In the bathing dimension, 63.6% were dependent, and 36.4% were independent. In the grooming dimension, 40.2% were dependent, and 59.8% were independent. In the bowel movement dimension, 13.1% were incontinent, 23.4% had occasional accidents, and 63.5% were continent. Lastly, in the stairs dimension, 25.2% were dependent, 36.4% needed assistance, and 38.3% were independent. Conclusions: There is no relationship between social support and activities of daily living in the older adults at the Geronto-Geriatric Residential Care Center Ignacia Rodulfo Vda. de Canevaro Lima-2018 (Chi-square = 2.561, df 6, p-value: 0.862).Ítem Acceso abierto User satisfaction with nursing care in the orthopedic geriatrics service at the Alberto Sabogal Sologuren Hospital, Callao, 2018(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-10-02) Arellano Arellano, Liz Fiorella; Vásquez Cevallos, Josefa EdithObjective: To determine the user's satisfaction with the nursing care of the Orthogeriatrics service of the Alberto Sabogal Sologuren National Hospital in 2018. Material and Method: Non-experimental, descriptive, transversal and quantitative study, whose sample was made up of 80 older adults hospitalized in the Orthogeriatric Service. The instrument used was the “CARE Q Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire”, the information was analyzed in the SPSS version 25 program. Results: Regarding user satisfaction regarding nursing care, it was found that 92.5% reported being satisfied; According to its dimensions, the majority said they were satisfied: accessible 91.3%, explains and facilitates 80%, comforts 91.3%, anticipates 92.5%, maintains a relationship of trust 93.8%, monitors and follows up 96.3%. Conclusions: The majority of users of the Orthogeriatrics service at the Alberto Sabogal Sologuren National Hospital during February to May 2018 were satisfied with the care of the Nursing professional; However, the dimension that presented the greatest dissatisfaction was “Explain and facilitate.”
