Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of oropharyngeal colostrum intake to strengthen the immune system in the premature newborn(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-03-14) Valdivia Rojas, Eli Jhasmin; Chumbe Meza, Keyla Pamela; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoObjective: To systematically analyze the available evidence from studies carried out on the effectiveness of oropharyngeal colostrum ingestion to strengthen the immune system in premature newborns. Material and Method: The systemic review design. The population is made up of 20 articles that were reviewed, of which only 10 scientific articles were chosen as a sample, which had research based on databases as an instrument: Pubmed, Cochrane, BVS. To evaluate the articles, the GRADE system was used, which evaluated the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: Of the total number of articles analyzed, 70% (n=7/10) of the articles point out the effectiveness of ingesting oropharyngeal colostrum to strengthen the immune system in premature newborns. Conclusion: 7 of 10 articles conclude that ingesting colostrum via the oropharyngeal route is effective in strengthening the immune system in premature newborns since colostrum contains a large amount of immunoglobulin A and lactoferrin which act as a defense protein, improving its profile. immunological and thus demonstrate the importance of early nutrition with colostrum. 3 of 10 articles conclude that new studies are needed to describe the benefits of colostrum, which did not detect statistically significant differences in both groups and could not prove the conjecture that the administration of colostrum reduces the incidence of sepsis and increases IgA levels. in the premature newborn.
