    Symptoms of depression and quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure who are undergoing hemodialysis treatment in a national hospital in Lima, 2024

    Introduction: Depression is a mood disorder characterized by feelings of sadness, hopelessness, and loss of interest or pleasure in daily activities. Depression can have a significant impact on the quality of life of people who suffer from it, including hemodialysis patients. Objective: "To determine how symptoms of depression are related to quality of life in patients with chronic renal failure undergoing hemodialysis treatment". Methodology: Hypothetico-deductive method, non-experimental design, quantitative, descriptive method, applied correlation method, cross-sectional method; the census sample will be made up of 90 patients and the tool used for the research work will be the "Beck Depression Symptom Questionnaire" and the modified SF36 Quality of Life questionnaire. The instruments are validated and reliable with a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.976 for the depression instrument; while the reliability of the "Quality of Life" questionnaire is 0.966. Data collection takes about 30 minutes for the participants. Spearman's correlation analysis will be used to test the hypothesis.
