Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge on secretion aspiration in closed circuit and nursing practice in the intensive care unit of a hospital in Metropolitan Lima 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-18) Valverde Rojas, Rosa Adeli; Camarena Chamaya, Luis MiguelIntroduction: Closed-circuit secretion aspiration is of utmost importance in intensive care units, as it can be life-saving for critically ill patients admitted to the hospital due to oxygen deprivation problems. Thus, in order to avoid complications in the patient's health, it is important to know the correct procedure for closed-circuit suctioning of secretions. Objective: Objective: to determine the relationship between knowledge of closed-circuit secretion aspiration and nursing practice in the Intensive Care Unit of a Hospital in Metropolitan Lima. Materials and Methods: The approach will be quantitative, observational and correlational level, non-experimental cross-sectional design, Sample: The population will be constituted by 100 nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit of a Hospital in Metropolitan Lima. Instruments: To measure knowledge, the Level of Knowledge of Closed-Circuit Secretion Aspiration Knowledge questionnaire elaborated by Moreno 2019 will be applied, with validity 0.97 and reliability 0.88 measured by Cronbach's Alpha. For the evaluation of nursing practice in closed-circuit secretion aspiration, a checklist elaborated by Cabello 2017 will be applied, with a validity of 0.87 and a reliability of 0.91 measured by the KR20 test, which indicates that both instruments are reliable. The results of the study will allow providing a better vision in patient monitoring, identifying the level of knowledge and practices of nursing professionals on secretion aspiration in intubated patients and will facilitate a reflexive behavior in the management of the intubated critical patient, which will guarantee a better professional performance.Ítem Acceso abierto Quality of the humanized care of the nursing professional according to the perception of the patients of an oncology clinic in LIMA - 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-03-05) Valverde Rojas, Rosa Adeli; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeObjective: To determine the level of quality of humanized care provided by nursing professionals, according to the perceptions of oncology patients. Materials and Methods: This is a quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional study. Results: The sociodemographic characteristics of the 100 oncology patients at a private oncology clinic are shown. In terms of gender, 53% were female, and 47% were male. The overall level of Humanized Care Quality was considered "Medium" by 66.40% (n=66) of the oncology patients, while 30.40% (n=31) rated it as "High," and 3.20% (n=3) perceived it as "Low." The dimensions of Humanized Care Quality provided by the nursing professional, according to the perceptions of oncology patients, revealed that the most predominant dimension was "Prioritizing the Being," where 74% of oncology patients agreed. Conclusion: The oncology patients at a clinic in Lima had an overall "Medium" level of quality of humanized care.
