The sample consisted of 1,032 prescriptions collected over three months from the emergency pharmacy service at the San Juan de Lurigancho Hospital in Lima, Peru. The Manual of Good Prescribing Practices from the Ministry of Health (MINSA) and its General Directorate of Medicines, Supplies, and Drugs (DIGEMID) was used to create data collection forms. This allowed researchers to evaluate compliance with good prescribing practices by referencing the required characteristics for each prescription. Results showed that 100% of prescriptions from July, August, and September were analyzed. The analysis revealed that 45.15% did not comply with good prescribing practices regarding the patient data dimension, 25.55% failed to comply with the proper prescription of medication data, and 13.04% did not meet the standards for legibility of writing on the prescription.
