Publicación Acceso abierto Factores de riesgo asociado a la anemia ferropénica en niños de 1 año del Centro de Salud Santa Luzmila I, distrito Comas – Lima, septiembre 2021–abril 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-01-19) Vento Aquino, Midori Liz; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThis research was conducted in a pediatric population with a high prevalence of anemia. For this reason, the general objective was to study the relationship between risk factors and iron-deficiency anemia in 1-year-old children at the Santa Luzmila I Health Center, Comas district, Lima, from September 2021 to April 2022. The methodology followed a quantitative, descriptive, and observational approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The entire population of 90 children was studied, applying a questionnaire to their mothers. The results showed a weak and direct correlation between risk factors and iron-deficiency anemia. Additionally, for the dimensions of demographic, social, and economic factors, a weak and direct correlation was found between the variables. The cultural and nutritional factors dimensions indicated a moderate and direct correlation between the variables. Conclusion: For the studied population, there was no relationship between iron-deficiency anemia and the child’s age, weight, or sex; or the mother’s family income, marital status, or educational level. However, the presence of anemia was attributed to a poor diet lacking iron-rich foods, as well as customs, habits, and beliefs.
