Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of protocolized weaning to reduce the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-02-22) Vera Montalvo, Roberto Carlos; Gordillo Fernández, Juan Carlos; Fernández Rengifo, Werther FernandoObjective: To systematize the results found on the effectiveness of protocolized weaning compared to non-protocolized weaning to reduce the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units. Material and Methods: Systematic review based on a critical reading and supported by the GRADE evaluation system to determine the degree of evidence of scientific research that has been consulted in the following databases Researchgate, Elsevier, Scielo, PubMed, Epistemonikos and Wiley Onlinelibrary. Corresponding to 80% of high quality as detailed below: 10% (1/10) are meta-analysis, 40% (4/10) are systematic reviews, 30% (3/10) are randomized controlled trials and 20 % of moderate quality, with 20% (2/10) being cohort studies, coming from the countries of England (20%), followed by Portugal (10%), Ireland (10%), Australia (10%), South Korea (10%), Brazil (10%), Canada (10%), United States (10%) and Turkey (10%). Results: 100% (n=10/10) indicate that protocolized weaning is effective in reducing the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units. Conclusion: Protocolized weaning is effective in reducing the duration of mechanical ventilation in patients in critical units.
