Ítem Acceso abierto Peak expiratory flow and exercise tolerance in post Covid patients in a Hospital in Lima, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-27) Verastegui Ojeda, Irene Renee; Diaz Mau, Aimee YajairaThis project aims to determine the correlation between peak expiratory flow and the distance covered in post-COVID-19 patients at a hospital in Lima, 2022. The study proposes an observational, correlational design to quickly and safely establish the relationship between the peak expiratory flow variable and quality of life. The measurement instruments to be used, the 6-Minute Walk Test and the peak flow meter, are internationally and nationally validated, ensuring an evaluation with excellent reliability parameters and ease of use. The study population will consist of 90 post-COVID-19 patients from a hospital in Lima. The ability to perform expiratory effort is a way to assess how strongly a patient can blow or cough, an important value, especially after significant weight loss following prolonged hospitalization, as is common in post-COVID patients. The peak expiratory flow will be measured using a peak flow meter, and physical capacity can be evaluated by calculating the distance covered using the 6-Minute Walk Test (6MWT).
