    Effectiveness of nutritional intervention in improving anthropometric parameters of patients with chronic kidney disease

    Material and Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, of all the articles found, those of greatest importance were included according to level and quality of evidence and some of lesser relevance were excluded. Results: 21 publications have been analyzed. It is evident that 70% of the reviewed publications demonstrate the effectiveness of nutritional intervention in improving anthropometric parameters. In the case of patients undergoing dialysis treatment, there was an improvement in BMI values, a decrease in % weight loss and an improvement in fat mass and lean mass. With respect to those patients who were without renal replacement treatment: the values ​​of BMI, % weight gain, fat mass and muscle mass improved. Conclusions: 70% of the reviewed publications agree that a nutritional intervention is effective to improve the anthropometric parameters of patients with chronic kidney disease.
