The study sample was made up of postpartum adolescents from HSJL (n=130) and HSJ (n=48), in the period from April to May 2017. The instrument used was the survey, to whom a questionnaire was applied, previously subjected to expert validation and reliability analysis (K.R = 0.6425). The responses were rated using the vigesimal scale, bad or deficient = 0 to 10, regular = 11 to 15, good = 16 to 20. For information processing, the SPSS version 22 program and Excel were used. Results: The predominant age range was 17 to 19 years in the postpartum adolescents in both hospitals, with a secondary education level. The predominant level of knowledge in both hospitals was fair, regarding exclusive breastfeeding. In the HSJL, 58.5%(76) of regular knowledge was obtained, followed by the level of good knowledge with 33.1%(43) and only 8.5%(11) of bad knowledge. In the HSJ, 79.2%(38) had regular knowledge, 14.6%(7) had good knowledge, and 6.3%(3) had bad knowledge. Conclusion: The majority of postpartum adolescents presented a regular level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding in the San Juan de Lurigancho and San José hospitals. The development of programs is needed to educate and raise awareness among future nursing mothers to avoid early weaning.
