The research was carried out, under the mixed approach, applying the hypothetical deductive method, exploratory scope, experimental design with a quasi-experimental sub-design with two groups, one control and the other experimental for the validation of the hypothesis and the inductive method with the hermeneutical phenomenological design. The instruments used for data collection were the pre and posttest content based on inquiry competencies, applied to a sample of 64 students; Likewise, the perception or evaluations of the students were collected through the Focus Group. The results were obtained by means of descriptive statistics and inferential statistics, concluding that the EMIC Program contributed significantly to the achievement of inquiry competences and the improvement of academic performance in Science and Technology, in second-grade high school students belonging to the experimental group, who showed their interest in continuing to learn through the application of the program because it is a dynamic, interactive and fun strategy, resulting in a significance of 0.00 before the non-parametric test of the Mann Whitney U; rejecting the null hypothesis and accepting the alternative hypothesis.
