Publicación Acceso abierto Potenciales efectos adversos de medicamentos y errores de prescripción encontradas en recetas atendidas de las boticas Peña del distrito de Comas – Lima Metropolitana, 2022(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2023-04-27) Cabrera Requena, Chuck Kevin; Vivas Puicón, Katherine Beatriz; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe main objective of this research was "to determine the potential adverse drug effects and prescription errors found in prescriptions handled at Boticas Peña in the district of Comas – Lima Metropolitana, 2022." Methodology: This was a basic study with an analytical method, non-experimental, cross-sectional, retrospective research design, descriptive level, and a quantitative approach. The population consisted of 414 prescriptions handled at Boticas Peña, with a sample of 207 prescriptions. The technique used was observation, and the instruments were two data collection forms. Results: Of the 207 prescriptions analyzed, 84.9% contained medications that caused some type of adverse effect, while 15.1% of these medications did not cause any adverse effects. The potential adverse effects found in prescriptions from Boticas Peña were six: gastrointestinal disorders (25.7%), drowsiness (15.2%), general discomfort (6.4%), nausea/vomiting (6.1%), and headaches (4.7%). Additionally, 97.6% of the prescriptions had prescription errors, with the most common being missing clinical history numbers (51.2%), missing diagnoses (56.0%), incorrect administration route (85.5%), treatment duration (45.4%), and legibility (67.1%). Conclusion: The main conclusion of the study was that 84.9% of the medications had potential adverse effects, and 97.6% of the prescriptions analyzed presented prescription errors.
