Ítem Acceso abierto Knowledge level of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding in children under 6 months of age at the Infantas Health Center – S.M.P. 2015 II(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Núñez Domínguez, Lilia Amire; Tabraj Esteban, Rosa Luz; Yamaguchi Diaz, Lady PatriciaBreastfeeding is considered the best food that can be exclusively provided to an infant until six months of age, and with other foods until two years. The World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) have recognized breastfeeding (BF) as essential in human nutrition and have promoted it through various global initiatives for decades. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge of mothers about exclusive breastfeeding for infants under 6 months of age. Materials and Methods: A descriptive, cross-sectional study was conducted at the INFANTAS Health Center in S.M.P in October 2015, applied to a sample of 117 mothers who voluntarily agreed to participate. A questionnaire was applied to the mothers after informed consent, who were in the waiting area of the Growth and Development Service. The data was entered into a database in Excel and analyzed in SPSS. Results: The level of knowledge of the mothers was medium for 63.3%, low for 19.7%, and high for 17.1%. Conclusion: The majority of mothers demonstrated a medium level of knowledge about exclusive breastfeeding. It is necessary for improvement interventions to be directed at the mothers, healthcare establishments, and the personnel providing care.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of caregiver burden in family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia at the Víctor Larco Herrera Hospital, Lima, Peru(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Fabián Ponce, Alicia; Yamaguchi Diaz, Lady PatriciaThe objective of this research was to determine the level of caregiver burden in family caregivers of patients with schizophrenia at the Víctor Larco Herrera Hospital, Lima, Peru, in 2015.
