    Objective: To determine whether there is a relationship between the dispensing or sale of proprietary line medications and non-compliance with Good Dispensing Practices (GDP) in pharmacy chains of Jesús María. Method: A previously validated data collection instrument, based on Good Dispensing Practices, was used. Population: Twenty-five pharmaceutical establishments; a total of 75 visits were carried out during morning, afternoon, and evening shifts. Results: 100% of the pharmacies visited failed to comply with GDP. In 92% of cases, dispensing of medications involved modifications to the prescription. The medications that generated non-compliance with Good Dispensing Practices, due to alterations in prescriptions, were NSAIDs (49.3%) and antimicrobials (50.7%). Non-compliance with GDP also occurred due to dispensing or selling medications without a prescription in 100% of cases, specifically NSAIDs (43.3%), antimicrobials (48.6%), AIES (5.3%), and others (2.7%). Furthermore, it was determined that 97% of establishments dispense or sell proprietary line medications, carried out by pharmacy technicians in 95% of cases and by pharmacists in 2%.
