Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of a Manual Therapy Program on Physical Activity and Functionality of the Knee in a Patient with Knee Arthrosis at the Villa Salud Polyclinic, Lima 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-04-25) Yesang Canales, Julissa Estefany; Arrieta Córdova, Andy FreudPhysical therapy is important in the treatment of osteoarthritis, as it is one of the ten most disabling conditions, affecting 50% of people over 65 years of age. The Knee Injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS-12) measures the functional capacity of patients with knee osteoarthritis, which includes several dimensions. The International Physical Activity Questionnaire (IPAQ) is used to measure physical activity, consisting of several questions regarding types of activity. Objective: To determine the effectiveness of a manual therapy program on physical activity and knee functionality in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Research type: It is a quasi-experimental study with a quantitative approach and a longitudinal design. Data will be collected at different times. A pre-test will be applied to both groups, with one receiving the experimental treatment and the other not (control group). At the end, a post-test will be conducted for both groups. The KOOS-12 questionnaire, with a validity coefficient of 0.85, is interpreted as excellent validity, and the IPAQ-SF questionnaire has a validity of 0.89, which is also interpreted as excellent validity.
