Ítem Acceso abierto Depression and family functionality in the elderly hospitalized in the pavilion 2 and 3 medicine service of the Arzobispo Loayza National Hospital, 2020(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2020-11-22) Zúñiga Briceño, Guillermo Idelso; Mori Castro, Jaime AlbertoObjective: To determine the relationship between depression and family functionality in elderly hospitalized patients in the medicine service of the National Hospital Arzobispo Loayza, 2020. Materials and methods: The study has a quantitative approach, with a cross-sectional and correlational descriptive design. The population will consist of 110 elderly patients hospitalized in the medicine wards 2 and 3 of the National Hospital Arzobispo Loayza from August to September 2020. The sample will include the entire population, considering the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The technique used for the study will be the survey, through which the required data will be efficiently collected. The Yesavage Depression Scale will be used to determine the level of depression, which consists of 15 items, validated in the national context. The APGAR family questionnaire, created in 1978 by Dr. Gabriel Smilkstein, will be used to determine family functionality. This questionnaire consists of 5 items, and it was also validated in the national context. Data collection will begin in November of the current year. Descriptive and inferential statistical analysis will be used.
