    Ergonomic risks related to occupational low back pain in nurses working in the Surgical Center at the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital, 2014.

    Objective: To determine the relationship between ergonomic risks and occupational low back pain in nurses working in the surgical center of the Daniel Alcides Carrión Hospital in 2014. Material and Methods: This research is applied to the field of health, of a descriptive-correlational type, cross-sectional, and non-experimental. The sampling was non-probabilistic and intentional. The sample consisted of 33 nurses: permanent (72.7%) and contract (27.3%), with ages ranging from 23 to 33 years (69.7%). Results: With a probability of p: (0.02), a “moderate positive correlation” (Spearman's Rho 0.517) was found between ergonomic risks (prolonged forced postures (0.718) and body movements (0.649)), both showing a high positive correlation with occupational low back pain in the acute dimension. The risks of weight-force (0.619), body movements (0.603), and prolonged forced postures (0.436) showed a “moderate positive correlation” with subacute low back pain. Body posture (0.055) and weight-force (0.158) showed a “low positive correlation” and did not demonstrate a higher level of relationship with chronic low back pain. Conclusion: Ergonomic risks are related to occupational low back pain with a moderate positive correlation.
