Materials and Methods: A systematic, observational, and retrospective quantitative review, conducted through critical selection and an evaluation system (GRADE) to identify the level of evidence, found in the following databases: PubMed, Cochrane, Medline, Trip Database, Cochrane Plus, Google Scholar. Of the 10 articles systematically reviewed, 70% (n=7/10) are systematic reviews, 10% are randomized controlled studies, 10% are retrospective cohort studies, and 10% are prospective experimental studies. According to the results obtained from the systematic review conducted in this study, the studies came from India (20%), the Netherlands (10%), Canada (10%), Switzerland (10%), England (10%), the United Kingdom (10%), the United States (10%), Denmark (10%), and Chile (10%). Results: Of the evidence found, 100% (n=10/10) indicate the effectiveness of vitamin K prophylaxis for preventing hemorrhagic disease in newborns. Conclusion: Vitamin K prophylaxis is effective for the prevention of hemorrhagic disease in newborns.
