Ítem Acceso abierto PHYSICAL ACTIVITY AS INTERVENTION FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF QUALITY OF LIFE IN THE ELDERLY ADULT(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-08-04) Millones Saldaña, Victoria Milagros; Zapata Mamani, Karlet Yulixza; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette GiselleObjective: To systematize the evidence about the effectiveness of physical activity to improve the quality of life in older adults. Material and method: This research study is quantitative, the research design is a systematic review consisting of 10 articles; meta-analysis, systematic review, randomized controlled trial, quasi-experimental, cohort and longitudinal that to evaluate the quality of evidence and strength of recommendation uses the Grade system with which all studies were evaluated, the databases used are: Pudmed, Lilacs, Scielo, Medline and Epistemonikos, when systematizing these 10 articles 20% (n = 2/10) are meta-analysis, 20% (n = 2/10) are systematic reviews, 10% (n = 1/10) is a randomized controlled trial, 30% (n = 3/10) are quasi-experimental studies, 10% (n = 1/10) are cohort studies and 10% (n = 1/10) is a longitudinal study. These studies come from the countries Brazil (30%), followed by Spain (30%), Costa Rica (10%), Colombia (10%), the United States (10%) and Taiwan (10%). Results: Likewise, of the evidence found, 100% (10/10) indicate that an intervention in physical activity is effective in improving the quality of life in older adults, and also indicates that this activity should be supervised, guided by a professional and prolonged over time. Conclusion: 100% of the articles reviewed show that physical activity is effective in improving the quality of life in older adults. This physical activity is beneficial for improving the physical, psychological and social state, and also improves autonomy and independence in older adults.
