    Functional capacity and self-care practice in older adults of the pension 65 program of the district of Grocio Prado – Chincha 2024

    Globally, aging is a significant public health issue. The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) highlights that most countries worldwide are experiencing population aging. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that by 2030, one in six people globally will be 60 years or older. Furthermore, between 2015 and 2050, the percentage of people aged 60 and above will double, increasing from 12% to 22%. The objective of this research was to determine the relationship between functional capacity and self-care practices in older adults enrolled in the Pension 65 program in the district of Grocio Prado - Chincha, 2023. This was a quantitative, explanatory, cross-sectional, and non-experimental study. The sample consisted of 100 older adults, both men and women, who were administered two standardized questionnaires. For data analysis, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov (KS) test will be conducted to determine whether the variables meet the normality assumptions, aiming to identify a Z-value >=< 0.5. The results will be presented in cross-tabulations, correlation matrices, scatter plots, and frequency tables.
