Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of the prona position in patients in mechanical ventilation with acute respiratory difficulty syndrome in pressure laceration prevention(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-08-04) Zavaleta Castro, Magaly Zulay; Carrera Tafur, Isabel Cristina; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: To analyze and systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of the prone position in patients on mechanical ventilation with acute respiratory distress syndrome in preventing pressure lacerations. Materials and methods: Quantitative research, the design was a systematic review, with a population of 34 articles, sample of 10 articles published in the databases, the instrument was a search in the databases: Cochrane, BVS, Lilacs, Scielo, Pubmed, Epistemonikos, the GRADE system was used to evaluate the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: All articles show that the prone position is effective in patients on mechanical ventilation with acute respiratory distress syndrome, but does not prevent the development of pressure lacerations, occurring in areas of the face, chest and legs, the number of hours in this position is an important factor and there was a comparison on the supine and prone position where it was shown that the prone position increases the development of lacerations. Conclusions: 100% of the studies show that ventilation in the prone position improves lung oxygenation in patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome, proving to be a therapeutic measure with excellent results, although it does not prevent the development of pressure lacerations.
