    Family functionality in patients with type II diabetes mellitus in the Maternal Childhood Center –Rimac.

    Objective: To determine family functionality in patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus at the Rímac Maternal-Infant Center. Material and method: This study is qualitative, descriptive, non-experimental, and cross-sectional. The population will consist of patients enrolled in the diabetes program at the Maternal-Infant Health Center in Rímac, totaling 246 patients in one year. A non-probabilistic, convenience sampling method will be used, selecting 62 patients between September and November 2020. Inclusion criteria will be patients with or without comorbidities, and exclusion criteria will exclude patients from other jurisdictions. The data collection technique will be a survey, using the Family APGAR questionnaire to assess family functionality. The responses are scored from 0 (Never) to 4 (Always) and classify families as Normal (17-20 points), Mild (16-13), Moderate (10-12), or Severe (≥ 9), covering 5 items across 5 dimensions.
