Methods: This research was carried out using the hypothetical-deductive method, in order to minimize the complexity of the research problem through the analysis of the various characteristics of the variables. The research approach was quantitative and applied, not experimental with a correlational design. The population is made up of a total of 80 people who make up the nursing staff working in the emergency service of a Hospital in Lima. The sample was obtained through inclusion and exclusion methods in order to obtain true and reliable information about the study variables. The technique used for the research was the survey, through the application of two duly validated instruments; the first is a questionnaire to measure the level of knowledge of biosafety measures; and the second corresponds to a checklist of the practice of biosafety measures by nursing staff.
