Objective: To identify factors associated with the level of knowledge about monkeypox among healthcare professionals in 2022. Materials and Methods: Hypothetical deductive research, with a quantitative approach, non-experimental design. The analysis units were healthcare professionals working in public and/or private institutions in the Lima Metropolitan area, with 529 participants. A self-administered survey was used, with knowledge level measured according to WHO specifications, validated and reliable instruments approved by the Clinical Epidemiology and Evidence-Based Medicine Research Center (CECLIMBE), Faculty of Human Medicine – Universidad de San Martin de Porres. The questionnaire was completed virtually via Google Forms and WhatsApp. Data were processed using Pearson’s Chi-squared test and multivariate logistic regression. Results: The mean age was 43.8 +/- 12.5 years, 36.2% were over 50 years old, 49.7% were male, 32.2% were medical technologists. The professionals had an average of 15.7 +/- 9.8 years of service, 47.3% had no postgraduate or second specialization studies, and 32.9% of respondents worked in two institutions. 79.2% of respondents had medium or low knowledge about monkeypox. No statistically significant association was found between knowledge level and age (p = 0.826), sex (p = 0.294), profession (p = 0.704), years of service (p = 0.389), postgraduate education (p = 0.409), or work center (p = 0.792). Multivariate analysis showed R2 = 0.328, with knowledge level as the dependent variable. Conclusion: Healthcare professionals have a low level of knowledge about monkeypox.
