Publicación Acceso abierto Determinación del uso de misoprostol en auto abortos y sus consecuencias en la salud de mujeres consumidoras en tres zonas de la provincia constitucional del Callao – Perú 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-03-27) Soto Salcedo, Benilda Rosa; Uvaque Gaytan, Janeth Kelly; Rivas Altez, WalterThis descriptive, analytical, and cross-sectional research was conducted to determine how the factors that intervene in the self-medication of the drug misoprostol by women who attend three pharmaceutical establishments in the constitutional province of Callao are related, as well as to analyze the consequences at the health level, taking into consideration parameters such as socioeconomic status, sociodemographic status, and individual perceptions of women. The methodology used in the present study was the Survey, using an instrument validated by expert judgment such as the questionnaire. The results obtained reveal that within the sociodemographic parameters studied, 44% of the interviewees are women aged 35 years or older, with a frequency of 66, followed by women aged 26 to 30 years with 21.33%. 84.96% are Catholic; 49.335 and 44.67% correspond to secondary and higher education levels respectively; Likewise, 46% are women in a state of cohabitation and 36.67% are single women, 34.67% are women who have independent jobs and housewives have a frequency of 20.67% and women with university studies with 14% respectively, the use of misoprostol in relation to gestation time was approximately 2 months with 46.67%, abdominal pain was one of the most frequent effects being 51.33% and nausea with 30% respectively, hemorrhage was one of the complications that the interviewees had being 52.67%, with respect to the possible sequelae product of self-abortion, they stated having recurrent infections at the level of the reproductive system being 18% of the interviewees as well as deterioration of sexual desire and pleasure with 12% and psychological problems of 10% respectively. Statistics show that there is a close relationship between the variables age and the consequences of using misoprostol, where the Chi Square, p reveals p=0.009 indicating a close statistical relationship.
