Aspects related to effective communication between nurses and patients' families

Objectives: Determine the aspects related to effective communication between the nurse and the patients' families in the area. Methodology/Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, using Jover's evaluation to identify their level of evidence. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, we found that 40% (04) correspond to Spain, with 40% (04) we find Colombia, while with 10% (01) we find Peru and Mexico respectively. The majority of Cross-Sectional studies have been studied, with 90%, mainly in the countries of Spain, Colombia, Peru and Mexico. And with 10% we have quasi-experimental studies belonging to Spain. Where the aspects related to effective communication of the nurse with the family members considered in the majority of the articles analyzed were: Verbal aspects (Strategies to facilitate understanding), Non-verbal aspects (social skills), heterogeneous positions on the presence of the family , the identification of the nurse and finally the instrumental aspects. Conclusions: It was evident in the reviewed research that to carry out effective communication it is necessary to consider the aspects of communication.

Effectiveness of the use of mobile technological applications to improve the health care of adult patients

Objectives: Determine the effectiveness of the use of mobile technological applications in the health care of adult patients. Methodology/Methods: Systematic Reviews are an observational and retrospective research design, which synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based medicine due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies to answer specific questions of clinical practice. (22) Results: 80% of the articles show that mobile applications promote a healthy lifestyle and improve health behaviors, in addition to being an innovative training tool, 20% of mobile applications are not prepared or adapted for elderly patients. Conclusions: 100% of the articles reviewed show that the use of mobile applications is effective in improving health care, promoting self-management of care for adult patients, and allowing permanent training of professionals, favoring multidisciplinary integration. .

Efficacy of the use of self-adhesive mesh versus conventional mesh in the prevention of postoperative complications of inguinal hernioplasty in the general surgery service

Objectives: Determine the effectiveness of using self-adhesive mesh versus conventional mesh in post-inguinal hernioplasty patients. Methodology/Methods: Systematic reviews are the best effort to compile and synthesize scientific evidence on the topic, through a method that ensures that the biases and limitations that we have mentioned in 8 scientific articles published and indexed in the databases, which corresponds to articles published in Spanish. Results: In the final selection, 8 articles were chosen, we found that 20% (02) correspond to Chile, and 10% (1) in Mexico, Spain, Bolivia, Colombia, USA, Cuba respectively. Among the articles we have (6) experimental, quasi-experimental (1), cases and controls (1). Where the total of articles analyzed 60% affirm that the use of self-adhesive mesh compared to conventional mesh is long-term benefit in hernias inguinal. Conclusions: It was evident in the reviewed research that there is effectiveness of self-adhesive mesh and polypropylene mesh in preventing postoperative complications in inguinal hernia with supposed benefits in reducing surgical time and reducing postoperative pain without increasing the number of complications or recurrences.

Risk factors in the evolution and mortality of heart failure in the elderly

Objectives: Determine the risk factors in the evolution and mortality of heart failure in the elderly. Methodology/Methods: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search has been restricted to articles with full text, and the selected articles were subjected to a critical reading, using Jover's evaluation to identify their level of evidence. Results: In the final selection, 11 articles were chosen, we found that 73% (08) correspond to Spain, with 9% (01) are from Brazil, Colombia and Argentina respectively. Of which 50% are cross-sectional analytical studies of the total number of articles analyzed, 80% state that the risk factors in the evolution and mortality of heart failure in the elderly are high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, smoking and obesity, while 20% % are lifestyle, dyslipidemia, pharmacological, age, sex and anxiety that negatively affects patients. Conclusions: The 11 articles reviewed, 80% (n=9/11) show that the risk factors in the evolution and mortality of heart failure in older adults are high blood pressure, diabetes mellitus, smoking, obesity and 20% (2/11) state that they are lifestyle, dyslipidemia, pharmacology, age, sex and anxiety
