Publicación Acceso abierto Cumplimiento de las buenas prácticas de prescripción para pacientes con tratamiento de quimioterapia en el servicio de oncohematología de la Clínica Internacional, periodo marzo–agosto de 2014(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Alarcón Pardo, Manuel Santiago; Chumpitaz Quispe, Patricia Fiorella; Guadalupe Sifuentes de Posadas, Luz FabiolaThis research sought to evaluate compliance with Good Prescribing Practices for antineoplastic medications in the Oncohematology Service of Clínica Internacional during the period March–August 2014. With authorization from the research department, an observational, descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional case-series study was conducted. A total of 415 chemotherapy prescriptions issued between March and August 2015 were analyzed according to the Peruvian General Health Law (Law No. 26842, Article 26) and the Ministry of Health’s Good Prescribing Practices Manual. The results revealed significant deficiencies in prescription documentation. The most frequent omissions included: lack of clinical history (67.47%), omission of patient weight (99.28%), omission of patient height (99.52%), omission of body surface area (98.07%), omission of diagnosis (91.33%), and missing information about the attending physician (62.17%). These omissions represent critical elements necessary for the appropriate validation of prescriptions. In conclusion, the study demonstrated that the minimum standards required to ensure safe and adequate prescribing practices for chemotherapy patients were not met at Clínica Internacional, confirming the need for improvement in prescription quality.
