Ítem Acceso abierto Acceptability of a nectar made with alfalfa, mango and camu-camu in Adventist people in Lima-Peru.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-10-28) Yomona Rojas, Jhoselyn Esther; Mauricio Alza, Saby MarisolThe variety of beverages rich in vitamins A and C remains limited in our country, despite the agricultural diversity of foods rich in these nutrients, which are essential for the proper functioning of the immune system. The objective was to evaluate the acceptability of a nectar made with alfalfa, mango, and camu camu among Adventists in Lima, Peru. Methodology: Applied research, experimental, prospective, and cross-sectional design. A nectar was made using alfalfa, mango, and camu camu, its nutritional value calculated, and sensory characteristics such as odor, taste, and color were evaluated with 100 volunteers from the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in the Independencia district of Lima, Peru. Results: The nectar made from alfalfa, mango, and camu camu contains 23 mg of vitamin A and 504.26 mg of vitamin C, with 53% acceptance for color, 64% for odor, and 71% for taste among Adventists in Lima, Peru. Conclusions: The nectar provides a significant contribution of vitamins A and C, important nutrients for the immune system. Sólidos solubles (Grados Brix) es ligeramente mayor en la muestra de Ayacucho que el de Arequipa.Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: effect of Zinc and/or vitamin C supplementation as a treatment in the recovery of patients with Covid-19(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-11-21) Galarza Martel, Ronny Raúl Omar; Bohórquez Medina, Andrea LisbetThe present work is a secondary research of critical review, which aimed to determine the effect of supplementation with zinc and/or vitamin C as a treatment for the recovery of patients with COVID-19. Evidence-Based Nutrition was used as a methodology. (NuBE), likewise, the systematic search of articles was carried out using Pubmed, Science Direct, Springer Open, Scopus and MDPI as scientific databases, where 55 articles were found, of which 17 were selected to be evaluated by the CASPe tool and in this way a randomized clinical trial titled: “Effect of high-dose zinc and ascorbic acid supplementation vs usual care on symptom length and reduction among ambulatory patients with SARS-CoV-2 infection: The COVID A to Z” was selected. randomized clinical trial", which obtained a level of evidence "I" and a grade of recommendation "Strong" based on the researcher's evaluation in accordance with the application of the CASPe tool, concluding that zinc supplementation and/or vitamin C generates a positive effect in the treatment for the recovery of patients with COVID-19, but it is not statistically significant; Therefore, larger clinical trials must be carried out to demonstrate the importance of said supplementation.Ítem Acceso abierto Level of knowledge about the administration of vitamin C and its relationship with the practice of nurses who provide home care in times of the Covid-19 pandemic, in Lima, 2022.(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2022-05-20) Sanchez Urrutia, Olga Azucena; Gonzales Saldaña, Susan HaydeeIn the present study "Level of knowledge about the administration of vitamin C and its relationship with the practice of nurses who provide home care in times of Covid-19 pandemic, in Lima, 2022", the objective was raised: To determine the relationship that exists between the level of knowledge about the administration of vitamin C and the level of performance in the practice of nursing staff. Methodology: The study is correlational, of an application type and non-experimental design. The population is made up of sixty (60) nursing professionals who work in House Nursing. The data collection technique was the survey and observation. The instruments that were applied were a questionnaire and an observation guide. Results: A positive and strong correlation was evident, statistically significant between the study variables with a Spearman coefficient of 0.8473959. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a relationship between the study variables. Regarding the dimensions of generalities, dosage and situational, the correlation values amount to 0.6582887, 0.5416052 and 0.4313139 respectively. The above reflects the importance of correct conceptual management as it is directly related to the practical performance of nursing staff.
