Ítem Acceso abierto Critical review: effect of acid supplementation omega 3 fatty acids in the improvement of clinical signs in adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-02-14) Ramírez Guzmán, Raúl Antonio; León Cáceres, Johanna del CarmenThis work addressed the topic of the effect of omega-3 fatty acid supplementation on improving clinical signs in adults with rheumatoid arthritis. A critical review of the literature was conducted, focusing on clinical studies that addressed the mentioned topic. The Evidence-Based Nutrition (EBN) methodology was used, which involved searching for scientific literature to answer the clinical question: ‘Is omega-3 fatty acid supplementation effective in improving clinical signs in adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis?’ From this search, an article was selected titled ‘Docosahexaenoic acid in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis,’ which was a randomized, crossover, double-blind, placebo-controlled study with microalgae oil versus sunflower oil. This study presented the highest levels of evidence and recommendation, and it most closely addressed the clinical question. It was concluded that the selected article is relevant for review and subsequent application in clinical practice by nutritionists and healthcare professionals in general.Ítem Acceso abierto Effectiveness of sternal closure with absorbable materials in cardiac surgeries through median sternotomy in the prevention of complications(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-08-18) Condor Rios, Ruth Esperanza; Sánchez Linares, Cyntia Margot; Calsin Pacompia, WilmerObjective: To analyze the evidence on the effectiveness of sternal closure with absorbable materials in cardiac surgeries through median sternotomy in the prevention of complications. Materials and Methods: Systematic, quantitative review; Grade system. Population of 19 articles, sample: 10 scientific articles published and indexed in databases: PubMed, EBSCO and Academic Google, Grade system. Results: The studies correspond to 40% control cases, 40% randomized clinical trials and 20% analytical cross-sectional, absorbable materials are fibrin-coated sheet, collagen, bone cement, biological adhesive; They report lower rates of instability compared to conventional sternal closure; use of absorbable L-Poly-Lactide acid pins with or without hydroxyapatite, reports lower rates of sternal displacement, greater bone density and tension force overload to achieve anteroposterior displacement; one study used polyglyconate suture in high-risk patients without finding sternal dehiscence; frozen bone graft has lower rates of sternal instability and infection compared to the control group. Conclusions: 90% of the studies reviewed (n= 9/10) show effectiveness of sternal closure with absorbable materials in cardiac surgeries through median sternotomy, obtaining better rates of instability and sternal dehiscence, sternal displacement, favoring osteogenesis, sternal fusion. 10% of studies show ineffectiveness in sternal closureÍtem Acceso abierto Efficacy of Early Dual Antiplatelet Treatment in Stroke Patients(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 1905-07-09) Flores Mory, Elvis Valeriano; Ramirez Tafur, Maria Alejandra; Gamarra Bustillos, CarlosObjectives: systematize evidence on the effectiveness of early treatment with dual antiplatelet therapy in patients with stroke. Methodology: Observational and retrospective systematic review, the search has been restricted to articles with full text and synthesizes the results of multiple primary investigations. They are an essential part of evidence-based medicine due to their rigorous methodology, identifying relevant studies. Results: In the final selection, 10 articles were chosen, we found that 70% (07) correspond to China, with 30% (03) we found Canada, USA, Korea. Most of the quasi-experimental studies have been studied, with 70 %, mainly in China. Conclusions: 80% affirm that dual antiplatelet treatment is effective in stroke. It was evident in the reviewed research that there is efficacy in the combination of acetylsalicylic acid and clopidogrel in the treatment of adult patients with stroke. It was shown to be effective in reducing risks and complications.
