The methodology was Evidence-Based Nutrition. The databases used: PUBMED, ELSEVIER, COCHRANE, SCIELO. Finding 11 articles and 6 were selected. They were evaluated using the CASPE instrument, which is used for critical review. Finally, the Meta-analysis titled “Reduction in saturated fat intake due to cardiovascular disease” was selected, which has a level of evidence IA and Strong Recommendation Grade, according to the researcher's judgment. The critical comment made it possible to determine that more research is needed to specify the benefits in the quality of life, in the emotional area, of the consumption of saturated fats in patients with metabolic syndrome, in the long term.
