This work aims to determine the amount of total fat in children's menus sold in restaurants in a shopping center in Lima and thereby determine the amount of kilocalories coming from said fats, as well as determine if they meet the nutritional requirements in terms of fats. and kilocalories for the urban child population. Cross-sectional quantitative study analyzed 20 children's menus from five restaurant establishments. The results show that the five restaurants offer menus that exceed the daily requirements for children in values ranging from 14.41% to 63.4% excess in terms of fat grams and from 23.92% to 61.59% excess in kilocalories in terms of fat consumed. Likewise, it was found that, if the additional items offered such as mayonnaise or sweets were taken into account, the excess fats would increase to values of 16% to 169.75% and kilocalories would exceed values of 14.74% to 166.80%. It is necessary to provide this information and try to improve offers to children so as not to expose them to diseases caused by these excesses.
