(“Fig”) leaves in rats. An ethanolic maceration of the plant leaves was carried out, followed by solubility testing, preliminary phytochemical analysis, and evaluation of antiulcer activity using the modified Lee (1971) technique at doses of 300, 600, and 800 mg/kg. A total of 60 Holtzman rats were randomly distributed into six groups, induced with gastric ulcer using naproxen 200 mg/kg, with ranitidine 30 mg/kg as the reference drug. The extract was shown to be soluble in methanol, ethanol, and distilled water. The preliminary phytochemical screening revealed the presence of flavonoids, alkaloids, phenolic compounds, and free amino groups. Regarding the antiulcer activity, the most effective treatment was the Ficus carica L. leaf extract at 800 mg/kg, achieving 83.01% inhibition of gastric ulceration, compared with ranitidine, which achieved 73.58% inhibition. These results were obtained using the Marhuenda scale. It was determined that the ethanolic extract of Ficus carica L. leaves at a dose of 800 mg/kg presents antiulcer activity in rats.Publicación Acceso abierto Efecto gastroprotector del extracto hidroalcohólico de las flores de Spartium junceum L. ՙՙretama” en lesiones gástricas inducidas en ratas holtzman(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-10-04) De La Cruz Flores, Roy Tulio; Pérez Quispe, Marcelino; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraThe gastroprotective effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of the flowers of Spartium junceum L. (EHFSJ) "broom" on gastric lesions induced in Holtzman rats. Methods. The study was an applied, preclinical, quantitative, cross-sectional, explanatory, and randomized experimental study. The plant was collected from Huancavelica. Thirty-six Holtzman rats were divided into six groups: i) 0.9% physiological saline solution; ii) naproxen 550 mg/kg (N); iii) esomeprazole 30 mg/kg + N; iv) EHFSJ 250 mg/kg + N; v) EHFSJ 500 mg/kg + N; vi) EHFSJ 750 mg/kg + N. Gastric ulcers were induced with naproxen, and the Marhuenda scale was used." To assess the ulceration index, EHFSJ showed solubility in ethanol, water, and methanol. Its phytochemical profile revealed alkaloids, flavonoids, triterpenes and/or steroids, phenolic compounds, and tannins. EHFSJ 500 mg/kg showed 100% inhibition of the ulceration index. With doses of 750 mg/kg and 250 mg/kg, the inhibition was 85% and 62.7%, respectively, which was significant (p<0.05) compared to the naproxen control group. Esomeprazole 30 mg/kg inhibited the ulceration index by 89.5%. The gastroprotective effect was similar between the 500 mg/kg dose of EHFSJ and the esomeprazole group. EHFSJ does have a gastroprotective effect on gastric lesions induced in rats. "chinchemano" en lesiones gástricas inducidas por naproxeno sódico(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-07-21) Inocente Cantu, Tatiana Elizabeth; Chávez Flores, Juana ElviraIn the present study on the gastroprotective effect of the hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves of Mutisia acuminata R. & P. “Chinchemano,” 8 groups of 8 animals were used, in which gastric ulcers were induced with sodium naproxen. The results showed greater efficacy with the hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves at doses of 400 and 600 mg/kg, with 68% and 82% inhibition of gastric ulcer, respectively, when compared with the standard groups Ranitidine and Omeprazole, which achieved 64% inhibition. These results were corroborated by macroscopic analyses (Marhuenda scale). It was concluded that the hydroalcoholic extract of the leaves of Mutisia acuminata R. & P. “Chinchemano,” administered orally at doses of 400 and 600 mg/kg, presents gastroprotective activity.
