Publicación Acceso abierto Hábitos saludables asociados a la prevalencia y síntomas en tres enfermedades digestivas, en adultos atendidos en una botica de Villa el Salvador, 2023(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2024-07-05) Arbulu Cabezas, Grette Estefani; Damián De la Cruz, Jorge Juan; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe objective of this study was to identify the relationship between healthy habits and the prevalence and symptoms of three digestive diseases in adults treated at a pharmacy in Villa El Salvador, 2023. Methodology: Hypothetical-deductive method, basic research, descriptive-correlational scope, quantitative approach, sample of 196 adults, non-probabilistic sampling. Results: Of 196 adults, 80.1% were between 31–50 years old, 57.7% were female; regarding food consumption habits: 34.2% consumed insoluble fiber; 36.7% soluble fiber; 12.8% high-fat foods; regarding hydration and eating habits: 41.8% drank 2 liters of water per day; 15.8% consumed coffee or soda; regarding exercise and mental health habits: 66.3% engaged in physical activity; 4.6% reported feelings of sadness; 3.1% feelings of guilt; 11.2% had difficulty sleeping. Symptoms of peptic ulcer: 17.9% abdominal pain; 8.2% nausea and vomiting; 31.6% bloating. Symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux: 28.6% heartburn; 19.9% food regurgitation; 14.8% upper abdominal pain; 3.6% difficulty swallowing. Symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome: 12.8% stomach cramps; 18.4% increased gas; 26% diarrhea and/or constipation; 22.4% abdominal distension. Prevalence: 16.3% peptic ulcer; 10.2% gastroesophageal reflux; 21.9% irritable bowel syndrome. Conclusion: Healthy habits were related to the prevalence and symptoms of the three digestive diseases.Publicación Acceso abierto Relación de afecciones digestivas con el empleo de plantas medicinales en personas adultas que acuden al Mercado Sarita Colonia San Juan de Lurigancho, 2024(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2025-02-18) Almidon Onton, Bertha; Vasquez Carrillo, Virginia Maria; Parreño Tipián, Juan ManuelThe objective was to relate digestive conditions to the use of medicinal plants in adults who go to the Sarita Colonia market in San Juan de Lurigancho, 2024. Method. The study used a hypothetical deductive method, non-experimental design, correlational descriptive level, cross-sectional, quantitative approach, basic type, the sample consisted of 169 adults, the information was collected by survey using a questionnaire, Spearman's Rho analysis was performed to contrast the hypothesis. Results. Of 169 respondents, 53.8% were men, 43.8% were between 41-50 years old, in digestive conditions, 26% presented early satiety; 24.9% meteorism; 29.6% regurgitation; 23.1% heartburn, 15.4% difficulty swallowing; 15.4% intestinal colic; 11.2% abdominal swelling, 14.8% nausea and/or vomiting and 40.8% diarrhea after meals. In the use of medicinal plants, 31.4% used lemon verbena; 14.2% chamomile; 15.4% ginger; 19.5% fennel; 29.6% rosemary; 33.1% anise; 24.9% mint and 11.2% holy herb. 46.7% used the entire plant, 39.6% the leaves, 23.7% the flowers and 21.3% the bark, 56.2% prepared infusions, administered between 1 to 3 times a day during the week; 26.6% used them for moderate indigestion; 36.1% for severe gastroesophageal reflux, 30.8% for moderate abdominal distension. The rho value was 0.905 indicating very high positive correlation. Conclusion. There is a very high positive relationship between digestive conditions and the use of medicinal plants in adults who go to the Sarita Colonia market in San Juan de Lurigancho.
