Academic performance and factors contributing to university dropout among nursing students at a private university in 2018

Objective: Determine the relationship between academic performance and university dropout factors in nursing students from a Private University in 2018. Material and Method: quantitative, descriptive, retrospective, cross-sectional approach. The sample was 105 students who abandoned their studies in two semesters of study (period 2016 I and 2016 II). A validated instrument was used with Cronbach's alpha with a value of r = 0.853, Spearman's Rho of sig. 0.049, less than 0.05, therefore there is a relationship between academic performance and university dropout. Results: it was found that 54% have low academic performance, 44% have average performance and 2% have excellent performance. On the other hand, among the dropout factors that were found, the economic factor was the one that prevailed in 46%, followed by the academic factor in 32% and the social cultural factor in 22%. Conclusions: It was found that more than Half of the students had low academic performance and of these, half dropped out due to economic factors.

Determinantes sociales de la salud relacionadas a deserción académica por embarazo en mujeres ENDES 2023

Objetivo: Determinar la relación entre los determinantes sociales de la salud y la deserción académica por embarazo en mujeres ENDES, 2023. Materiales y método: estudio correlacional, no experimental, transversal, análisis multivariado mediante la revisión de “Dataset” ENDES 2023. Siendo la población mujeres entre 12 a 24 años del ámbito nacional Perú según ENDES 2023. Se utilizó razón de Proporciones Poisson de varianza robusta. La variable de interés (segunda variable) fue “Razón por que dejo de asistir a la escuela” (embarazo/no embarazo). Siendo la primera variable Determinantes sociales de la salud (con las dimensiones Biología Humana, Medio Ambiente, Estilos de Vida y Cuidados de la Salud, Sistemas de Salud). El número de muestra fue de 4132. Resultados: El 22,4% de mujeres dejó de estudiar por embarazo. El hablar otro idioma (35.35%), el considerarse de raza blanca (19.49%) y raza negra (19.12%), disminuyen la posibilidad de deserción académica por embarazo. Mientras que el tener una edad hasta 18 años (25.91%), El haber tenido de 1 a 3 nacimientos en los últimos 3 años (59.53%), El tener nivel educativo superior (50.08%) y El nivel educativo secundaria (142.31%), El tener una edad de inicio de relaciones sexuales menores a 18 años (60.25%), El no vivir junto con su pareja (109.85%), El vivir junto con su pareja (80.88%), El ser casada(65.13%), El tener cobertura de seguro de salud (36.05%), El tener una condición socioeconómica de rico/más rico (16.70%), aumentan la posibilidad de deserción académica por embarazo. Conclusión: Se encontró significancia estadística en los cuatro factores.

Factores asociados a la deserción del programa de psicoprofilaxis obstétrica en gestantes atendidas en el C.M.I Tahuantinsuyo, Lima-Perú - 2024

Objetivo: Establecer la relación entre los factores que contribuyen al abandono del taller de psicoprofilaxis en mujeres embarazadas que acudieron al CMI Tahuantinsuyo, Lima-Perú, durante el año 2024. Métodos: Se ejecutó una investigación cuantitativo, deductivo y observacional, con un diseño transversal y descriptivo correlacional. Resultados: Se verificará que la participación a los talleres de psicoprofilaxis mostraba diferencias según el estado civil de los participantes, evidenciando una relación significativa entre el estado civil y el número de sesiones asistidas. Asimismo, el cumplimiento del horario en las citas y la asistencia a las sesiones a la hora prevista iban de la mano con el número de talleres educativas recibidas, mostrando relación relevante. No obstante, se encontró una relación entre la convivencia y el número de sesiones, se subrayó la relevancia de la participación para asegurar una atención completa en la gestación. Conclusión: Se identifican relación significativa entre el número de sesiones educativas de psicoprofilaxis y varios factores. Se resalta el afán de educación permanente en esta área para aumentar la comprensión, el saber y la precisión en las citas de las embarazadas. También, se estima relevante tener en cuenta el estado civil al diseñar estos talleres, puesto que parece afectar la participación y la dedicación de los participantes. Estas observaciones ponen de manifiesto la relevancia de implementar planes específicos para fomentar una intervención activa.

Objective: To determine the factors of dropout in mothers who do and do not comply with the multimicronutrient supplementation program at the Gustavo Lujan Lanatta Health Center. Methodological design: The study conducted is a case-control type, with an observational analytical design. The population consisted of 100 mothers, and the technique was an interview, with the questionnaire as the instrument. Results: The factor most strongly related to dropout is the maternal factor, with a Cox and Snell R-squared value of 0.671, and the nursing practice factor with a Cox and Snell R-squared value of 0.662. Regarding the indicators of each of the five factors, it was identified that for the sociocultural factor, maternal age (chi2 0.037) and educational level (chi2 0.001) have the most influence. For the maternal factor, all present chi2 <0.05, thus they are related to dropout. For the child factor, age (chi2 0.012) and response to the administration of MMN (chi2 0.012) are significant. For the nursing practice factor (chi2 <0.05), all indicators are related to dropout. Finally, for the institutional factor, the monthly distribution of MMN (chi2 0.016) and home orientation about MMN (chi2 0.043) were the most influential. Conclusions: It is concluded that there is a relationship between the dropout factors in mothers who comply and those who do not comply with the multimicronutrient supplementation program at the Gustavo Lujan Lanatta Health Center.

Results: The factor with the strongest correlation to dropout was the maternal factor, with a Cox and Snell R-squared value of 0.671, followed by the nursing practice factor, with a Cox and Snell R-squared of 0.662. Regarding the indicators for each of the five factors, it was found that for the sociocultural factor, the mother’s age (chi2 = 0.037) and education level (chi2 = 0.001) had the greatest influence; for the maternal factor, all indicators presented chi2 <0.05, indicating their relation to dropout; for the child factor, the child’s age (chi2 = 0.012) and reaction to MMN administration (chi2 = 0.012) were significant; for the nursing practice factor, all indicators showed a chi2 <0.05, indicating their association with dropout. Finally, for the institutional factor, the monthly distribution of MMN (chi2 = 0.016) and home-based guidance on MMN (chi2 = 0.043) were the most influential. Conclusion: It is concluded that there is a relationship between the factors leading to dropout in mothers who comply and those who do not comply with the multimicronutrient supplementation program at the Gustavo Luján Lanatta Health Center.

Factors that influence in the desertion of the growth and development controls in children in pre school stage of the peru iv zona health center, Lima 2019

Objective: To determine the factors influencing dropout from growth and development monitoring in preschool children at the Peru IV Zone Health Center, Lima, 2019. Materials and methods: A qualitative approach was used, with a descriptive level and a non-experimental, cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 86 mothers of preschool children. The survey technique was applied, using a questionnaire with 18 items divided into three dimensions: biocultural, socioeconomic, and institutional. Linear regression was used for statistical analysis. Results: There is an influence of biocultural, socioeconomic, and institutional factors on dropout, showing a strong positive influence of 0.858 and a significance level of 0.000 < 0.05. Additionally, biocultural factors influenced 89.7%, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Socioeconomic factors influenced 77%, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, and institutional factors influenced 56%, with a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion: Biocultural, socioeconomic, and institutional factors influence dropout from growth and development monitoring in preschool children at the Peru IV Zone Health Center.
