    Efficacy of tissue adhesive for closing surgical wounds

    Of the total number of articles analyzed, 80% demonstrate that tissue adhesive for closing surgical wounds is effective, and 20% demonstrate that it is effective if used with a conventional suture to reinforce the closure of the surgical wound. Likewise, 90% of tissue adhesives are of synthetic origin derived from cyanoacrylates and 10% are of biological origin derived from fibrin, and no studies were found that refer to semisynthetic tissue adhesives.
