    Level of dependency of the elderly in the geriatric network grandparents' home Lima-Sur 2019

    Objective: Determine the level of dependence of the elderly on the Casa de los Abuelos Lima Sur Geriatric Network - 2019. Material and methods: The research is quantitative, non-experimental. It is also framed in a transactional or transversal design. The population under study were older adults belonging to the Casa de los Abuelos Geriatric Network, in South Lima: Surco, San Borja and la Molina. There are 100 geriatric patients at the headquarters. The instrument used was the Barthel Dependency Index, it is a 10-item instrument divided into dimensions such as: feeding dimension, bathing dimension, personal hygiene dimension, dressing dimension, anal control dimension, bladder control dimension, toilet management, bed chair movement, displacement dimension and the stair climbing dimension, all based on the interview technique. Results: In the nutrition dimension, it is 29% dependent. The level of dependence on the shower dimension is 66% dependent. For the personal cleanliness dimension, it is 67% dependent. For the Anal Review dimension, it is 68% dependent. In the bladder review dimension, it is 71% dependent. In the toilet management dimension, it is 46% dependent. In the chair/bed transfer dimension, it is 41% dependent. In the displacement dimension, it is 41% dependent. In the dimension climbing stairs, it is 43% dependent. Conclusions: The level of dependence of the elderly, there is a total dependence on the Casa de los Abuelos Lima Sur Geriatric Network.
