The research manuscript has a quantitative approach, is applied, and is non-experimental with a cross-sectional, descriptive, and correlational design. The sample consisted of 92 first-time mothers of newborns discharged from the Hospital Essalud – Lima 2021, selected from a population of 121 mothers using a formula for finite populations. For this study, a survey will be conducted as the technique, using two questionnaires as instruments, both with a Cronbach's alpha coefficient greater than 0.7, demonstrating an acceptable level of consistency. Objective: To determine the knowledge of first-time adolescent mothers in identifying the warning signs of newborns at the Maternal-Infant Center in Villa El Salvador, Lima, 2021. Material and method: This study has a quantitative approach, where the variables will be described as they occur, and their occurrences will also be quantified. The study is applied, non-experimental, and cross-sectional, meaning that data will be collected within a specific period. The population will consist of 35 first-time adolescent mothers from the joint accommodation service at the Centro Materno Infantil - Villa El Salvador," and the sample will be census-based, using a non-probability snowball sampling method. Data Collection Techniques and Instruments: A questionnaire validated by Amaya P. will be used. It will consist of 17 questions with two dimensions: general knowledge and specific knowledge. Statistical Analysis: Once the information is collected, it will be processed in an Excel sheet and later in SPSS 26 (latest version). The data will be presented in statistical tables through graphs, followed by interpretation and analysis based on the theoretical framework.
