(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-11-24) Rojas Polo, Jessica Gloria; Zegarra Claudio, Anie Betzave; Avila Vargas Machuca, Jeannette Giselle
Objective: Systematize the evidence on the effectiveness of cognitive stimulation intervention to delay the progression of senile dementia in older adult patients. Material and Methods: The type of research was quantitative, the study design was a systematic review, the population was 777 articles, and the sample was 10 scientific articles published and indexed in scientific databases, the instrument was a search based data: Pub Med, Cochrane, Scielo, Epistemonikos, to evaluate the articles the GRADE method was used which evaluated the quality of evidence and the strength of recommendation. Results: The 100% articles correspond to Brazil 20%, England 10%, Canada 10%, China 10%, Italy 10%, Spain 10%, Europe 10%, France 10% and Chile 10%. In relation to the designs and types of studies, 20% systematic review, 10% systematic review and meta-analysis, 50% randomized controlled trial, 10% quasi-experimental, 10% case-control group. Conclusion: The evidence found shows that 100% indicate the effectiveness of interventions such as daily tasks, interaction and integration, physical and intellectual social activities, orientation tasks, language, visual and motor coordination, leisure activities among others in stimulation. cognitive function to delay the progression of senile dementia in older adult patients, benefiting increased memory, better self-esteem and self-image.

Effectiveness of laser vaporization technique versus transurethral resection of the prostate for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in elderly patients
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2017-12-03) Guzmán Rodríguez, Fiorella; Montesinos Benites, Stefanie Pamela; Matta Solis, Hernán Hugo
Objective: To evaluate the evidence on the efficacy of laser vaporization versus transurethral resection of the prostate for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in elderly patients. Materials and Methods: This is a systematic review that synthesizes the results of multiple primary studies. The sample is based on a review of 10 scientific articles published in the scientific databases LILACS, SCIELO, LIPECS, EPISTEMONIKOS, and the Cochrane Review, with the primary focus on the efficacy of laser vaporization versus transurethral resection of the prostate for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in elderly patients. Among the 10 pieces of evidence, 40% (4/10) were systematic reviews, 20% (2/10) were randomized prospective studies, 10% (1/10) was a meta-analysis, 10% (1/10) was a randomized trial, 10% (1/10) was a retrospective observational cohort study, and 10% (1/10) was a randomized clinical trial. Results: 80% of the articles found indicate that laser vaporization is an effective technique, while 20% mention that it is equally as effective as transurethral resection of the prostate, though they suggest continued patient evaluation at hospital discharge. Conclusion: Laser vaporization is more effective than transurethral resection of the prostate because it reduces hospital stay by 70%, bleeding by 80%, catheterization time by 80%, the need for blood transfusion by 70%, and pain by 70% in the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia in elderly patients.

Efficacy of dialytic treatment compared to conservative treatment for survival in elderly patients with end-stage renal disease.
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2018-07-08) Estrada Cacha, Rosa Geraldine; Sánchez Portella, Yari Noemí; Matta Solis, Hernan Hugo
Objective: To systematize and evidence the efficacy of kidney transplantation in the reduction of the risk of graft loss for survival in pediatric patients. Materials and Methods: The study is quantitative, with a systematic review design. The population consisted of 39 articles that were reviewed, and 10 scientific articles were selected as the sample. Of these, 20% (n=2/10) were systematic reviews, 10% (n=1/10) were systematic review and meta-analysis, and 70% (n=7/10) were cohort studies. According to the quality of evidence, 30% was rated as high and 70% as moderate. In terms of the strength of recommendations, 30% were strong and 70% were weak, based on the country where the research was conducted. Results: The reviewed articles show that 40% (n=4/10) indicate the efficacy of renal replacement therapy in the risk of graft loss for survival in pediatric patients. Another 40% (n=4/10) state that it is partially effective, and 20% (n=2/10) state it is not effective. Conclusion: It is concluded that 40% (n=4/10) indicates that renal replacement therapy is partially effective in the risk of graft loss for survival in pediatric patients.

Knowledge level about hypertension in adults treated at the medicine service. Hospital de Huaycán Lima-2014
(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2015) Coaquira Toribio, Tania Viviana; Tello Cóndor, Luzmila Nancy; Santiago Abregú, Sonia
The present study aims to determine the level of knowledge about hypertension in adults attended in the Medicine service at the Huaycan Hospital. Material and Methods: This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design, involving a sample of 50 patients with hypertension admitted to the Medicine service during the year 2014. The reliability of the instrument was assessed using Cronbach's Alpha statistical tests, and the data were entered into the SPSS 19 software. Results: Regarding the level of knowledge about hypertension in users of the Huaycan Hospital, it was evident that they have an average level of knowledge. In terms of knowledge about hypertension by age group, adults aged 40-60 years predominated with an average level of knowledge. In the dimension of knowledge about hypertension by gender, it was observed that both female and male participants showed predominance of an average knowledge level, with 48% and 47%, respectively. Regarding knowledge of the conceptual aspects of hypertension, it was noted that the majority of the population was unaware of the definition of hypertension. In terms of knowledge of the clinical manifestations of hypertension, it was observed that the participants were more unaware of the symptoms than the signs of hypertension. Regarding knowledge of the risk factors of hypertension, it was identified that 80% were unaware that the age group most vulnerable to hypertension is 45-55 years old and that the Black race tends to suffer from hypertension earlier in life. In the dimension of knowledge about the complications of hypertension, it was noted that most people were unaware that the most vital organs (heart, eyes, and kidneys) are damaged by hypertension. Regarding knowledge of hypertension prevention, it was identified that participants were unaware of the frequency at which blood pressure should be monitored, the existence of relaxation programs, that smoking increases blood pressure, the recommended duration of physical activity (30-45 minutes), and that people with hypertension can exercise.

(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2019-07-18) Segura Barreto, Antuanet Zenobia; Fuentes Siles, María Angélica
Objective: Determine the relationship between level of dependency and quality of life in older adults at the Geronto Residential Care Center - Ignacia Rodulfo Viuda de Canevaro Geriatric Center, Rimac— 2019. Material and methods: The present research has a descriptive - correlational and Cross section, the population was made up of a total of 333 residents, from which a sample of 100 older adults was obtained. The instrument used was the Barthel index that allows knowing the level of dependency and the SF-36 Questionnaire in reference to health-related quality of life. Results: There is a statistically significant relationship between level of dependency and quality of life with a correlation index of 0.713 (p > 0.05) and a significance value of 0.000, therefore, the variables have a strong directly proportional relationship with a margin of error of 0.05 (5%). Conclusions: The independent level prevailed with 56%, likewise it was obtained that severe dependence was 4%; For quality of life, high quality of life prevailed with 46%, as well as low quality of life with 2%.
