Ítem Acceso abierto Anterior displacement of the inferior dental canal in adult patients evaluated with Cone Beam tomography, Lima 2019(Universidad Privada Norbert Wiener, 2021-01-05) Remuzgo Ambrosio, Aymé; Mezzich Gálvez, Jorge LuisThis thesis aimed to determine the anterior displacement of the inferior dental canal in adult patients evaluated with Cone Beam CT scans in Lima, 2019. The study was observational, descriptive, and correlational, with a non-experimental design and applied approach. The population consisted of adult patients who underwent Cone Beam CT scans, with a sample of 74 scans selected. Results: The mean anterior displacement was 7.8584 mm, with a minimum of 0.00 mm and a maximum of 18.36 mm. Regarding displacement by sex, 68.9% of cases involved women, and 31.1% involved men. On the right side, the minimum displacement was 0.0 mm, and the maximum was 17.63 mm; on the left side, the minimum was 1.95 mm, and the maximum was 18.36 mm. The average displacement was 7.55 mm on the right side and 8.1601 mm on the left side, with slight differences in their means and medians (6.49 and 7.02, respectively). In terms of displacement grades, partial predominance was observed for grades 1 and 2, while grades 3 and 4 were more prevalent on the left side. Conclusion: The study found a significant relationship between the anterior displacement of the inferior dental canal and sex (p<0.05). However, no significant relationship was found between displacement and its location (right or left side) (p=0.315).
